Invisalign is an innovative orthodontic system that uses a series of clear aligners, generated by computer simulation, to gradually move teeth. The aligners are nearly invisible, removable, and made from BPA-free plastic. Invisalign is available for children, teens, and adults with certain orthodontic needs.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign combines advanced 3-D computer technology with the 100-year-old science of orthodontics. A series of clear aligners move your teeth in small steps to the desired final position. Each aligner is precisely calibrated and custom manufactured to fit your mouth at each stage of treatment.
Benefits of Invisalign
- Discreet: Because the aligners are clear, they are nearly undetectable to others.
- Removable: Unlike with braces, there are no food restrictions with Invisalign. Simply remove the aligners while eating. You can also brush and floss normally.
- Comfortable: While braces have come a long way, patients often find Invisalign more comfortable. The aligners are made from smooth, BPA-free plastic, so there are no brackets or wires.
- Convenient: Treatment with Invisalign requires fewer office visits than with braces.
How Does Invisalign Work?
We first acquire a digital scan of your teeth. Our orthodontists then submit precise treatment instructions to Invisalign. Using advanced 3-D computer modeling, these instructions are translated into a sequence of finely calibrated, custom aligners. Each aligner is worn for around one week. As you switch aligners, your teeth will gradually move towards the final prescribed position. Our doctors monitor the progress of your treatment with appointments every six-to-eight weeks. Treatment times vary depending on your particular case.
